Obsession

"Obsession" is a collection that displays the range of my different handwritings. For this experiment, I chose three different quotes, wrote each one of them 50 times, and recorded the scenarios and situations around me, including how long it took me to write each quote.

Over the years, I have noticed myself subconsciously switch between scripts depending on my mood, the text and my surroundings. This experiment made this action a little more conscious, while also not attempting to alter everything about my surroundings. I went with the flow of things as I was writing, and the only conscious act was the act of recording them.

I also tried experiments with individual letters and words separated out of the written sentences, all of which has been documented in this book. As I was going through them all, I felt like I had multiple personalities.

I also made a collection of “alphabet stickers” out of the individual letters of these handwritten scripts, as a way for people to be able to play and mess around with the letters I created, to build words or sentences of their own.
